Do Whatever He Tells You: Mary’s Guide to Daily Christian Living

Bible Verse: “His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.'” – John 2:5

  • Devotional Reading: At the wedding in Cana, Mary noticed a very human, embarrassing need before anyone else did—the wine had run out. Her immediate, instinctive reaction was not to create a panic, but to quietly bring the problem directly to Jesus. Her final recorded words in the Gospel serve as a perfect, timeless blueprint for all Christian living: “Do whatever he tells you.”
  • Mary never points to herself; she always points us directly to Jesus Christ. She functions as a bridge of grace and intercession. When we bring our prayers, our struggles, and our brokenness to the Blessed Mother, she gently takes our petitions and presents them to her Son. At the same time, she turns to us and reminds us that true joy and miracles happen only when we listen to and obey His divine command.
  • Reflection: Are you actively seeking Jesus’ direction in your daily decisions, or are you trying to fix your problems entirely on your own? What does it mean for you today to “do whatever He tells you”?
  • Prayer & Application: Identify one major decision or problem you are facing this week. Write it down, and in prayer, hand it over to Jesus through the intercession of Mary. Commit yourself to doing the right, righteous thing according to Scripture, trusting that Christ can turn your “water” into “wine.”
